tailed for the survey of the harbor of Baltimore city and the
adjacent waters, and the establishment of the pier and bulk-
head lines thereof, and appropriating five thousand dollars
to pay the expenses of said Board.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

Mr. Phelps from a Select Committee, reported favorably
the following bills :

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
State's Attorney for Dorchester county, to stett cases on the
Docket of the Circuit Court for said county.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment
of a Collector and Treasurer, and a more economical collec-
tion of taxes in Dorchester county, and to repeal Sections 77,
78, 79, 80, 81 and 82 of Article 10, of the Code of Public
Local Laws for said county, and enact the iollowing in lieu
thereof.

Which was read the first time, and
On motion by Mr. Phelps,

Was ordered to be printed.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commissioner-
of the Land Office, to continue the indexing of certain Land
Records, and extracts of deeds transferred to the Land Office,
from the Office of the Clerk of the Court of Appeals, under
the Act of 1874, chapter 66.

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claims of divers editors of newspapers in the State
of Maryland, for publishing the Act of January Session 1874,
chap. 364, entitled "an Act to amend Sec. 8, of Art. 4, of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland."

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to promote the security of com-
mercial transactions, by regulating the issue, negotiability
and transfer of bills of lading, storage receipts, and like com-
mercial instruments, by defining the rights of the holders
thereof, and by preventing and punishing improper dealings
with the same or with the goods covered thereby.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Gorman from the Committee on Elections, (by unani-
mous consent,) reported favorably the following bills:
