Mr. Aydelotte, from the Select Committee, reported favor-
ably

Senate bill entitled an Act declaring the sanction of the
General Assembly to the bequests of John Gunby, late of
Coshocton county, Ohio, deceased, to the Commissioners of
the Presbyterian Church, old school, at Snow Hill, Mary-
land, and to the Snow Hill Presbyterian Church of Worces-
ter county.

Which was read the first time.

The Senate at 10.39, A. M., took a recess until
11.10., A. M.

At 11.10, A. M., the Senate resumed business.
Mr. Knight submitted the following Message:

By THE SENATE,

January 12, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We invite you to be oresent in the Senate Chamber at 12
o'clock M., to participate with us in the inauguration of the
Governor elect, and to witness the administration of the
oath by the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals, in compli-
ance with the requirements of the Constitution and laws of
the State

We will appoint a Committee to wait upon your Honora-
ble Body and conduct you to our Chamber.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was road, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The President appointed as said Committee Messrs. Knight,
Brewer and Aydelotte.

The Hon. R. C. Holliday, Secretary of State, appeared and
delivered the following Message from the Executive:

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, Jan. 12, 1876.

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I herewith transmit to you several Reports and Resolu-
tions, with other papers that were intended to have accom-
