Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of Mary Berry, widow
of James Berry, a soldier of the war of 1812, praying that
a pension be granted her.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Lloyd presented the following memorials :
Memorial of Wm. S. Denny and 15 others, citizens of Tal-
bot county, praying the passage of a law requiring all grain
sold in Baltimore to be weighed

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Also,

Memorial of M. Merrick and 20 others, citizens of Talbot
county, praying that the Constitution be so amended that
no person shall have a right to vote unless they pay a poll
tax of one dollar.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Also,

Memorial of numerous citizens of Talbot county, praying
the passage of an Act to divide the 3rd Election District
into two voting precincts.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Elec-
tions.

Also,

Memorial of M. Merrick and 50 others, citizens of Talbot
county, praying the passage of an Act authorizing the Clerk
of said county to enter confession of Judgment in all cases
where the confession is made in writing by the defendant.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Also,

Memorial of C. M. Jump and 20 others, citizens of Talbot
county, praying the passage of a stringent usury law, and
requiring the officers of the Courts to present every infrac-
tion of the law coming to their knowledge.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Gorman presented the report accompanying draft of
laws by Committee appointed at Maryland Institute Decem-
ber 14th, 1875.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Elec-
tions.
