entitled "an Act to repeal Article 26, of the Code of Public
General Laws, and to enacts substitute therefor," and to
repeal Section 22, of Article 16, Sections 99, to 103, of the
same Article, and Sections 33 to 43, of Article 88, of the Code

of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read the first time.

Also, unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the better accom-
modation and comfort of passengers on street and railway
cars.

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Suit,

The vote by which the unfavorable report on said bill was
adopted.

Was reconsidered, and said bill recommitted to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay to Levin L. Waters, a
sum of money due him from the State, with the following
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "A bill" and insert,

"Entitled an Act to pay Levin L. Waters, Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Somerset county, for fees accruing in his
office against the State of Maryland.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer be authorized and directed, upon
the warrant of the Comptroller, to pay to Levin L. Waters,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Somerset county, the sum of
$21.76, for services rendered the State as Clerk aforesaid.

Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage."

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claims of divers editors of newspapers, in the State
of Maryland, for publishing the Act of January Session,
1874, chapter 364, entitled an Act to amend Section 8, of Ar-
ticle 4, of the Constitution of the State of Maryland.
