Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 9, of Article
14, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to suppress the nuisance of
travelling vagrants and beggars, commonly called tramps.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners for Dorchester county, to appoint an additional
Constable for the Frst Election District of said county.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The hour of one o'clock having arrived, the Pesident an-
nounced the order of the day to be the

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of a
sum of money, to I. Nevitt Steele, Philip F. Thomas and S.
Teackle Wallis, for professional services rendered the State, in
the prosecution of its claims against the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad Company.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Gorman submitted the following amendment.

Section 1, Line 4, strikeout the word "five" and insert
"three."

Mr. Joyce moved to amend the amendment as follows:

Strike out "five thousand" and insert "five hundred."

Which was determined in the negative, by yeas and nays,
as follows:
