Mr. Stevens, from a Select Committee, reported unfavora-

bly,

House hill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 25, of Article 4, of the Code of Publis
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore, '

Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Knight, (the rules were suspended,)
so as to take up,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 4 and 6, of
chapter 150, of the Acts of 1874, entitled "an Act to estab-
lish a Commission of Fisheries of the State of Maryland, de-
fine its duties, and to appropriate a sum of money to defray
the expenses thereof," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
On motion by Mr. Stevens, (by unanimous consent,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to promote the
security of commercial transactions by regulating the issue,
negotiability and transfer of bills of lading, storage receipts
and like commercial instruments, by defining the rights of
the holders thereof, and by preventing and punishing impro-
per dealings with the same, or with the goods covered there-

by.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the Act approved
March 30th, 1868, entitled an Act to incorporate the Gary
Manafacturing company, of Maryland.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate Bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 456, of the
Acts passed at January Session 1874, entitled an Act to pro-
