The question being then taken upon the amendment of
Mr. Gorman,

It was adopted.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment.

Line 5, after the word "each," insert "as soon after the
passage of this bill as may be compatible with the interests
of the State, and also, the further sum of two thousand dol-
lars each, when all the cases of the State against the Balti-
more and Ohio Railroad Company, involving the question of
Capitation Tax shall reach a final decision in the Court of
last resort, if they shall conduct said cases therein, or in case
of a final adjustment of said controversy."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended was then read ine second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading
On motion by Mr. Phelps,

The Senate at 2.15, P. M,, went into executive session.

At 2.35, P. M., the Senate resumed the consideration of
Legislative business.

On motion of Mr. Walsh, (by unanimous consent.)

Leave was granted to Messrs. Walsh, Knight and Hep-
bron, to introduce a bill to amend Act of 1874, chapter 421,
in regard to "Fish and Fisheries."
On motion by Mr. Brewer,

The rules were suspended so as to take up

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1874, chap-
ter 338, entitled "an Act for the Taxation of Dogs in Mont-
gomery county."

Which was read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:
