Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of H. S. Emmons, Jr.
and others, of Baltimore city, praying the passage of the ap-
propriation for the Centennial of American Independence.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce the following bills :
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 13 and 31 of the
Code of Public General Laws, relating to Attachments, and
to re enact the same with amendments.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to Ar-
ticle 45 of the Code of Public General Laws relating to dower.
Also.
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 37 of Article 75 of
the Code of Public Ge eral Laws, title "Pleadings, Prac-
tice and Process," sub-title "Practice."'
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to amend Article 45 of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to husband and wife.
On motion by Mr. Joyce,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 459,
464, 467, 469, 470 and 475 of the Public Local Laws, enti-
tled "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Live Stock," and re-
euact the suine with amendments.
On motion by Mr. Humphreys,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to amend Section 5, Article-—, of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Publication of Laws," passed
at Session 1868, chapter 67.
On motion by Mr. Getty,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 5,
of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed Jan-
uary Session, 1874, chapter 144, entitled an Act to repeal
Sections 5 and 6, of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at January Session, 1872, chapter 212, en-
titled an Act to provide for taking a vote for or against a
new county in certain election districts of Allegany county,
at the election to be held in the fall of 1872, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

entitled an Act to repeal the 107 Section, of Article 1, of the
