NEGATIVE—None.

Mr. Steiner presented the memorial of John Hanson Hil-
leary, H. T. Deaver, O. P. Crarnpton and 30 others, citizens
of Frederick county, praying the passage of an Act ''to com-
pel every voter to pay a special tax of $ 1.00 annually, for
himself, and the same for his dog, and f 1.00 for every addi-
tional dog that he may choose to keep, and unless such tax
be paid wjien due, the delinquent not to be allowed to vote
at the coming election, and every other person, male or fe-
male, owning a dog, taxed Fame, and collect as other taxes,
the revenue from such tax to be applied to the School Fund."

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Suit presented the memorial of Catharine E. Small,
widow of Col. Jarob Small, a soldier of the War of 1812,
praying that a pension be granted her.

Which was read and relerred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Steiner presented the 6th and 7th Annual Reports of
the Maryland Institution for the Education of the Deaf and
Dumb, to the Legislature of Maryland, for the years 1874
and 1875.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave of absence was granted to Senators Aydelotte and
Duke for a few days

Mr. Cooper presented the memorial of Val. King, M Con-
Tray and 150 others, against any change in the Oyster, Laws

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
