Mr. Lawrence, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to protect and to prevent the
destruction of the class of small birds, known as insectiv-
erous birds, in St. Mary's county.

Was read the first time.

Senate Joint Resolutions in redation to migratory fish in
the waters of the Potomac river,

Were read the second time aud ordered to be engrossed far
a third reading.

Mr. Steiner, at 1.40 P. M., moved a called of the Senate.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform the absent
Senators that their presence was required in the Senate
Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Steiner, at 2 P. M.,
Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 30, of the
Code of Public General Laws, by inserting therein certain
Sections for the prevention of cruelty to animals,
Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Joyce moved to strike out the enacting cause.
