the creation and regulation of incorporated Companies in
the State of Maryland," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

By Mr. Brewer,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary, (hereaf-
ter to be appointed,) to introduce a bill to repeal Sections 48
and 49 of Article 5, of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, entitled "Appeals," and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

By Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city Senators to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the Gover-
nor to convey a lot or parcel of ground in the City of Balti-
more, belonging to the State, to the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore.

By Mr. Getty,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Getty, Ford and Lawrence
to introduce a bill for the protection of deer in Garrett
county.

Mr. Stevens from the Select Committee, submitted the fol-
lowing

REPORT.

The Committee appointed in reference to the election of'
Chaplains for the Senate, respectfully report: That they rec-
ommend the appointment of the Rev. Isaac W. Canter of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Reverend Father
Schwartz of the Roman Catholic Church, to act as Chaplains
for the Session of the Senate, and that their compensation be
the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars each.

Which was read and adopted.

On motion by Mr. Stevens, it was

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns to-day, it stands
adjourned until Tuesday next at 12 M.
