and that the same amount be allowed to the Secretary; and
that the Secretary have this order forthwith, handed to the
Postmaster,

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr, Stevens, it was

Ordered, That the Governor's Message be referred to a
Select Committee of five, whose duty it shall be to report the
reference of its several subjects to appropriate committees.

Which was adopted.

The President appointed as Select Committee on Gover-
nor's Message, Messrs. Stevens, Aydelotte, Gorman, Steiner
and Knight.

On motion by Mr. Gorman, it was

Ordered, That the committee (required under 24th sec-
tion of 3rd Article of the Constitution) when appointed, be
instructed to inquire the cost of printing for the General As-
sembly of Maryland, since the Session of 1865, and to report
in full thereupon.

Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Aydelotte, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate, cause to be
mailed to each newspaper in the State, the Senate J ournal
and reports printed by order of the Senate.

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Elections, here-
after to be appointed, to introduce a bill to repeal chapter
490, of the Acts of 1874, entitled an Act to repeal an Act,
passed January session, eighteen hundred and seventy, re-
lating to the registration of voters, and to re-enact the same
with amendment.

Also, by Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, (here
after to be appointed,) to introduce a bill to provide for the
general valuation and assessment of the property, real and
otherwise in this State.

By Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations,
(hereafter to be appointed,) to introduce a bill to repeal Chap-
ter 476 of the Acts of 1870, entitled "an Act to provide for
