On motion by Mr. Duke,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Duke, Freeman and Cooper
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to prevent the increase of
gates upon the public roads of Calvert county.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Comptroller to adjust the ac-
count of Horace Resley, late Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Allegany county.

On motion of Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill providing for the better protection of the money
of the State.

Also, by Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to repeal Section 27, of Article 10, of
the Code of Public General Laws, relating to attachments,
and re-enact the same with amendments.

Also, by Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to pay to Levin L. Waters, Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Somerset county, a certain sum of money due to
him from the State.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to provide for a survey of Garrett
and Allegany counties, and the taking a vote of the people
of certain election districts of the adjacent parts thereof, for
or against a new county.

Mr. Brewer, from the Committee on Agriculture, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1874, chap-
ter 338, entitled an Act for the taxation of dogs in Mont-
gomery county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Frederick county to transcribe two equity
dockets of the Circuit Court for said county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Hepbron, from a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 8, of chapter
506, of the Acts of 1874, entitled an Act for the taxation of
