at half-past one o'clock, for the election of a Police Commis-
sioner for the term of six years, in the place of John Milroy,
who term of office will expire before the meeting of the next
General Assembly, and concur therein.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Cooper presented the memorial of Ehrman & Bro.,
K. Bailey & Co., Charles W. Booz, and 70 others, citizens
of Baltimore, praying the passage of an Act regulating the
sale of fire-wood in the City of Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city Sen-
ators.

Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of H. S. Cooper and
25 others, citizens of Baltimore county, praying the repeal
of the Attachment Law of 1874,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Freeman presented the memorial of James Sheldon
and 7 others, praying to be re-instated on the pension rolls.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

On motion by Mr. Joyce, it was

Ordered," That the Committee on Claims be directed to pay,
upon the certificate of the Chairman of ttie Select Committee,
appointed to investigate charges in regard to the administra-
tion of the Weigher of Live Stock, such sum or sums for the
attendance of witnesses as may be required in pursuance, of
said investigation.

Which was adopted.
Mr. Bannon submitted the following:

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims pay to J. R. Wal-
ton the sum of fifteen dollars, due him as Assistant Sergeant-
at-Arms of the Senate for the Session of 1870, (for, mileage.)

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Mr. Lawrence submitted the following :

Notice is hereby given, that on Wednesday next, the 2d
of Februay, 1876, I will offer for the consideration of the
Senate, resolutions in honor of, and in respect to the memory
