The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 28th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, to go into Joint Convention this day, in the
Hall of the House of Delegates, at half past one o'clock, P.
M., for the election of a Police Commissioner tor the term of
six years, in the place of John Milroy, whose term of office
will expire before the meeting of the next General Assembly.
