Mr. Walsh presented the memorial of John O. Stearns
and 21 others, citizens of Harford county, asking the re-
repeal or amendment of chapter 439, of the Acts of 1874, in
regard to Licenses.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Walsh, Lee and
McCulloh.

On motion by Mr. Humphreys, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate furnish the
Comptroller of the Treasury, a list of the officers of the Sen-
ate, and the date of their appointment.

On motion by Mr. Getty,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to increase the free scholar-
ships in the Baltimore Female College.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to prevent stock running at
large in Baltimore county, within 15 miles from Baltimore
city.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act for the protection of
hotel and boarding-house keepers, and to add a new Article
to the Code of Public General Laws, to be entitled "Hotel
and Boarding-House Keepers "

On motion by Mr. Knight,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill to repeal chapter 150,
of the Act of 1874, to establish a Commission of Fisheries,
and to re enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Ford, Getty and McCulloh
to entroduce a bill to repeal chapter 436, of the Acts of 1874,
entitled an Act for the better protection of partridges in
Queen Anne's county.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 30, of the Code
of Public General Laws, by inserting therein certain Sections
for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

Which was read a first time.
