THURSDAY, January 27th, 1876.
Senate met at 12 M.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Ide.
Present at roll-call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Brewer, Copper, Duke, Den-
nis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Hepbron, Humphreys,
Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCulloh, Mudd,
Newcomer, Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit. Walsh—25.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Getty presented the memorial of Daniel Baker and
51 others, citizens of Garrett county, praying the adop-
tion of some measure to preserve and keep in repair the
National Road within the limits of said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Steiner presented the memorial of Mary Ann Keller,
of Frederick county, widow of Jacob Keller, a soldier of the
war of 1812, praying that her name may be restored to the
pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of the Maryland
Horticultural Society, asking for the passage of a law to
prohibit stock running at large in Baltimore county, within
15 miles of Ba timore city.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Phelphs presented the memorial of the Choptank Dis-
trict Grange, praying relief from Wharf and Steamboat
monopoly in certain waters.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of D. H. Taxworth,
M. D. Newbold, and 681 others, merchants and citizens oi
Baltimore, praying the repeal of the Attachment Law of
1874.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings,
