On motion by Mr. Suit,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 56, 57, 58, 59,
60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 66, of Article 30, of the Code of
Public General Laws, and to re-enact Section 56, of Article
30, of the Code of Public General Laws, with amendments,
title "Licenses."

Also, by Mr. Suit,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to
Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Li-
censes."

On motion by Mr. Knight,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to provide for the sale to the County Commission-
ers of Cecil county, of the State's interest in the Bohemia
Bridge Company.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in-
troduce a bill entitled au Act to repeal Section 2, of chapter
2, and Section 8, of chapter 4, of an Act passed January
Session, eighteen hundred and seventy-two, chapter 377,
entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the January Ses-
sion of 1870, entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at Jan-
uary Session, 1868, entitled "Public Education," providing
a general system of free public schools for the State of Mary-
land, and to repeal all laws inconsistent therewith, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to substitute in
lieu of said sections, the following.
On motion by Mr. Humphreys,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Humphreys, Dennis and
Aydelotte to introduce a bill entitled an Act to preserve and
define the harbor at Salisbury, and the channel at Wicomico
River, in Wicomico county.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to whom had been referred the memorial of Hon. Rich-
ard J. Bowie, reported favorably Senate

JOINT RESOLUTION.

WHEREAS, The Eon. Richard J. Bowie of Montgomery
