of his election as State Treasurer, and we concur therein.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
Mr. Whitelock submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Committee on Elections to which was re-
ferred the matter of the contested election from the City of
Baltimore, be, and the same is hereby empowered and in-
structed to send for pprsons and papers, employ a steno-
grapher and sufficient clerical force, and generally adopt such
measures as may be necessary to secure a "fair, full and
complete investigation" into allegations of the contestants as
to the freedom and fairness of the election held in the City of
Baltimore on the second day of November last, and that said
Committee, either as a whole or by a Sub-Committee, hold
its sessions for the purpose of taking evidence in the premises,
in the City of Baltimore, and report the result of their inves-
tigation to this House at the earliest practical day.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Comptroller of the State Treasury report
to this House at an early day the annual receipts from all
sources into "Oyster Fund " for each and every year since
the creation of that "Fund," and the annual disbursements
for each and every year as aforesaid in detail, for the use and
maintenance of the Oyster Police of the State.
Which was adopted.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following message:
BY THE SENATE,
January 19th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates ;
We have received your message proposing to enlarge the
Joint Committee on the Boundary Line between the States of
Virginia and Maryland, by adding thereto the name of Mr.
Benjamin Lankford of your House, and concur therein.

Secretary.
