The bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Queen Anne's county, in their discretion, to pay a
sum of money not exceeding three thousand dollars, to erect
a bridge over Wye river in said county.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Robinson, Chairman of the Committee on Education,
reported favorably,
The bill entitled an Act making appropriation for the pay-
ment of the board of free scholars from Garrett county, in St.
John's county.
Which was read a first time.
Mr, Loane, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 476, of the
Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to provide for the creation and
regulation of incorporated Companies in the State of Mary-
land, and to enact a substitute therefor.
Which was read a second time.
The hour having arrived for the consideration of the order
of the day, the House proceeded to the consideration of the
order of the day, being
The bill entitled an Act to repeal any supposed exemp-
tions of the capital stock of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad
Company, or of any of its branch roads, or its or their pro-
perty—real, personal or mixed—from taxation for State,
county or municipal purposes.
Which was considered.
Mr. Goldsborough moved that said bill be recommitted to
the Ways and Means Committee, with instructions to take
testimony and report to the House on Friday next.
Mr. Rutledge moved to lay the motion on the table, upon
which
Mr. Snowden demanded the yeas and nays.
The call being sustained, the yeas and nays were called
