Judiciary.
Mr. Ranger presented the petition of John D. Simmons
and 420 others praying for the passage of a law submitting
to the voters of the City of Baltimore, in the several wards
thereof, and to the voters of the several counties of the
State, the question whether licenses shall be granted to sell
intoxicating liquors as a beverage in said city, or the wards
thereof, and in said counties.
Which was read and referred to the Cemmittee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Coburn presented the petition of Mr. Wm. H. King,
& Co, and 120 others merchants and traders of Baltimore
city, in favor of the modification of the Act of 1872, re-
strictiag the sale of Drugs, &c.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Rutledge presented the petition of Garrett Amos,
and 20 others citizens of Harford county, for the removal of
the Eastern Hay Scales.
Which was read, and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Also,
The petition of Shadrach Street and other citizens of Balti-
more county, for the removal of the Eastern Hay Scales.
Which was read, and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Gill presented the petition of the Trustees and Presi-
dent of the Maryland Inebriate Asylum.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Rusk presented the petition of the Oystermen, asking
the appointment of Inspectors.
Which was read and referred to the Committee oa the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Cockey presented the petition of Edwin H. Coursey,
for a Pension.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
