Mr, Brown proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the word "respecting" in line 3, Section 14.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Scott proposed the following amendment:
AMEN MENT PROPOSED.
In Section 16, strike out on line 3 the word "of," and on
line 3 the words, "himself or some competent person ap-
pointed by him."
Which was rejected.
Also, the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED
Insert "Tobacco" after word "office," in line 11, Sec. 18.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Gwynn proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 18, line 12, strike out the word "full" before the
word "name," and insert the word "the" between "of" and
"owner," so as to read, "with the name of the owner," &c.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Mattingly proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Insert Section 29, line 5, after the word "same," "'and the
sum of $1 for the cask."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Scott proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In Section 29, line 2, strike out "$2," and insert "$1.50."
Which was rejected.
Mr. Lancaster moved to reconsider the vote by which the
amendment of Mr. Mattingly was adopted,
Which motion prevailed.
Mr. Lancaster proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Insert in Section 29, line 5, after the word "same," and the
sum of one "$1,60 for the cask."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Hints proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Append by adding to Section 30, "and the proceeds from
such/sale shall be paid over to the Comptroller of the Trea-
sary for the use of the State of Maryland,"
Which was rejected.
