Petition of Aquilla Chilcoat, et al., for a change in the
School Law, so as to allow a school for the colored children,
to be established when ten pupils can be obtained in regular
attendance.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on. Educa-
tion.
Mr. Hooper presented the petition of Randolph Donelson
and 82 citizens of Baltimore county, asking for the passage-
of a law prohibiting the sale of liquor within one mile from,
the Union Mills, in said county.
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.
Mr. Robinson presented the petition of Adeline Watkins,
Louisa Blackiston, Harriet Watkins and numerous other citi-
zens of Anne Arundel county, asking for Local Option.
Also,
Petition of H. M. Murray, James Chester, R. T. Estep
and numerous other citizens of Anne Arundei county asking
for Local Option.
Also,
Petition of Sallie T. Chester, Mary Waters, Sallie Thomas
and numerous other ladies of Anne Arundel county, asking;
for Local Option.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Temperance.
Mr. Sprigg presented the petition of 93 citizens of West-
ernport, Allegany county, Maryland, against bill placing
restrictions, &c., on building associations.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Briscoe presented the petition of Dr. L. R. Kirk anil
others, asking the passage of a law to enable physicians-
more easily to collect their fees.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
