buildings of the county, or to build offices for the Clerk of the
Circuit Court and the Orphans' Court,
Was read a first time.
The bill entitled an Act to provide for assessment and tax-
ation of the property of Railroad Companies in the State, for
county and municipal purposes, and to repeal all laws or
parts of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act,
Which had been returned from the Senate on Tuesday,
29th of February,
Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amend-
ments,"
Was considered.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
In 3rd line of Section 1, after the word "State," insert
"working their roads by steam."
At end of 10th line, of Section 1, after the word "State,"
add "provided that no extra assessment shall be made, and
no extra or special tax shall be levied or collected on any
bridge or bridges over streams, or over any tunnel forming
any part of the roadway of any railroad or railroads in this
State, it being the meaning and intent of this Act that any
bridge over streams or any tunnel forming a portion of the
roadway cf any of said railroads, shall be valued at the same
rate that any other equal portion of said road is valued."

March 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
We have received your message proposing the appointment
of a Joint Committee of the Senate and the House of Dele-
gates to visit the City of Baltimore, to examine the proposed
sites for locating the Tobacco Warehouses , No. 1 and 2.
We have appointed Messrs Bannon, Hepbron and Suit upon
the part of the Senate.
