the assessment of property heretofore or hereafter omitted to
be assessed, and for the collection of State taxes payable
thereon.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
The bill entitled an Act to prevent the catching, killing or
destroying in any manner terrapins or terrapin eggs in any
portion of the State of Maryland or the waters thereof, from
the 1st day of May to the 15th day of August, in any year.
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Hodges submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out Section 4,
Which was adopted.
And the bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to protect persons traveling on the
highways in Harford county, where the same crosses any
railroad track,
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Constable submitted the following amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Insert the words "and Cecil, Howard, Washington, Dor-
Chester, Baltimore, Frederick and Montgomery," after the
word "Harford," wherever it occurs in bill and title.
Make the word "county" read "counties" wherever it ap-
pears in bill and title.
Which were severally read and adopted
And the bill, as amended, was ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Donaldson, it was
Ordered, That the bill entitled an Act to add Section to
the Public General Laws, title "Lunatics and Insane," be
recommitted to the Committee on the Judiciary.
On motion of Mr. Gill, it was
Ordered, That the vote by which the bill authorizing the
State Librarian to furnish Wicomico county with books,
was passed, be reconsidered, and the bill recommitted.
The motion was Adopted, and the bill wad recommitted.
The bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to
Article 37, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Evi-
dence," to be known as Sec. 45, B,
