ing proviso: "Provided, the said Cumberland and Pennsylva-
nia Railroad Company shall fail or refuse to furnish such cars
after five days notice."
In Section 3, line 22, after the word "thereof," insert as
follows:
"Upon the failure or refusal of the said Cumberland and
Pennsylvania Railroad Company to furnish the same as here-
inbefore provided."
In Section 3, line 23, strike out the word "one-half," and
insert "one-quarter."
Which were severally read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the arneud-
ments
Mr. Fenton demanded the previous question,
The demand being sustained,
The question then recurred upon the amendments submit-
ted by Mr. Hinks.
And they were rejected.
On motion of Mr. Fenton,
Section 3 was then ordered to be engrossed for a third read-
ing.
Sections 4, 5 and 6 were then, ordered to be engrossed fora
third reading.
Mr. Hinks submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
At the end of the section add the following:
"And shall continue in force until the beginning of the
next session of the General Assembly."
Which was rejected.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr.' Fenton moved that said bill be read a third time this
day, under the provisions of the Constitution, Sec. 27, Ar-
ticle 3.
