The petition of Jeremiah Robertson, praying to have State
taxes paid in error refunded.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
On motion of Mr. Lancaster, it was
Ordered, That as a necessary sanitary provision for the
health of the members of this body, the custodian of this
hall be diiected to raise the windows and k6ep open the doors
leading to the back entrance at least an hour each day, and
be it further ordered, that smoking shall not be permitted in
this hall at any hour.
On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell, it was
Ordered, That the order offered on Saturday by Mr. Hob-
litzell to change the order of business, be referred to Commit-
tee on Rules.
On motion of Mr. Cockey,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Cockey, Neal and Hodges, to
introduce a bill to authorize the County Commissioners for
Queen Anne's county, to erect a bridge over Wye river.
On motion of Mr. Purnell,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Purnell, Onley and Dashiell,
to introduce a bill to divide the Third Election District of
Worcester county into two districts.
On motion of Mr. Hance,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the Act of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at January Session, 1870, chapter 385,
entitled an Act to incorporate the District of Columbia, Upper
Marlboro', and Hill's Landing Turnpike Company.
On motion of Mr. Dodson,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Dodson, Fitzjarrell and
Riggs, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize the
Commissioners of the town of Oxford, to convey to the Board
of County School Commissioners of Talbot county, a public
lot in said town for the purpose of erecting thereon a public
school house.
The hour having arrived for taking up the unfinished busi-
ness,
The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act making appropriations for the support of the
State government for the year ending the 31st of December,
Said bill, being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Gill,
The further consideration thereof was postponed,
