Mr. Given presented the petition of J. D. Slade, Seth

Mr. Whitelock presented the memorial of 50 citizens of
Baltimore county, many of them being borrowers, asking a
change in the Usury Laws

Judiciary.
Mr. Chaisty presented the petition to repeal the Sunday
law in regard to barber shops by 30 hotel proprietors of the
City of Baltimore.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Robinson presented the petition of Elizabeth Elliott,
widow of James Elliott, one of the soldiers of the war of
1812, asking to be allowed a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ped-
sions.
Mr. Hooper presented the petition from Thos. Kelly, John
Keller and 58 tax-payers of Baltimore county, asking a
change in the law respecting usury.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Hart presented the petition of 450 prominent mer -
chants and citizens of Baltimore, praying the passage of a
law reducing the rates of interest for money, so as to allow
written contracts to be made between borrower and lender,
but in the absence of such contract to leave the rate of inter-
est at six per centum per annum.

Judiciary.
Mr. Waters, of Carroll; presented the petition of Jeremiah
Robertson, asking for the passage of an Act authorizing the
Commissioners of Carroll county to levy a sum of money to
refund taxes overpaid,
