504 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 26,
On motion of Mr. Ranger,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Sharpsburg Savings In-
stitution.
On motion of Mr. Hinks,
Ordered, That Mr. Naiil be excused from attendance on
the sessions of this House until Monday next, on account of
a death in his family.
On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill to repeal Sections 1, 3 and 4, of Article 43,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Habeas Corpus,"
and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to repeal and re-enact the General Incorpora-
tion Act of this State, so as to provide for a more careful or-
ganization and better regulation of Mutual Fire Insurance
Companies.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to prescribe the manner for increasing the
capital stock and indebtedness of corporations.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to regulate the amount of toll and other
charges made by Boom Companies, and by persons taking up
timber.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill relating to Corporations, so as to settle the
liability of stockholders of banks and banking institutions,
land and building institutions, and other dealers in money in
this State.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill requiring Railroad Companies to construct
and maintain good and safe fences on both fides of their
tracks in certain sections of the State, to protect the lives and
property of the people.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill enlarging the powers of Courts of Equity in
this State, in cases of partition.
