Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to-
in troduce a bill to protect the people of this State against in-
competent practitioners of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, &c.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill relating to the heir of the debts of decedents
not of record.
The hour having arrived for taking up the unfinished
business,
The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act making appropriations for the support of the
State government for the year ending the 31st December,
1876.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Lancaster submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Under title "Schools," line 11, strikeout the word "fifty"
and insert the words "one hundred:"
Which was read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
Mr. Vandiver moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed,
And said amendment, together with bill, be made the-
order of the day for Monday next, 28th instant, at 1 o'clock,
P. M.
The question recurring upon concurring in the motion,
