On motion of Mr. Given, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Baldwin and Smith, of Baltimore
county, be excused for non-attendance to-day, as they have
business of importance which called them away.
On motion of Mr. Lambden, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Constable be excused from attendance
in this House for a few days, on account of sickness in his
family.
On motion of Mr. Briscoe, it was
Ordered, That Mr. McGlone have leave to absent himself
from this House to-day, on account of important business.
Mr. Neal submitted the following order :
Ordered, That this House hereafter meet at 11 o'clock A.
M., and adjourn at 3 o'clock P. M., or take a recess at that
hour, and that the roll be call immediately preceding said
adjournment or recess, and the absence of any member, at
said roll call, be noted, and if said absentee be unable,
when required to furnish to this House a satisfactory reason
for such absence, he shall be deemed guilty of neglect of
duty, and shall, as a penalty therefor, forfeit his per diem
for the day on which such neglect occurs.

It was decided in the affirmative.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the order,
it was rejected.
On motion of Mr. Rultedge,
Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce
a bill to authorize the Register of Wills of Harford county,
to continue the index or key to the guardian accounts in his
said office, and to make it the official duty of the said offi-
cer to continue the same hereafter.
On motion of Mr. Lancaster,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Lancaster, Hawkins and
Bird to introduce a bill to allow the County Commissioners
of Charles county, to pay to Richard Barnes the usual per
diem and compensation for loss of time by sickness, while
serving as one of the Judges of the Orphans' Court.
On motion of Mr. Bird,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Bird, Turner and Lancaster
to introduce a bill authorizing the County Commissioners to-
