zens of Dorchester county, asking for the passage of a law
to give them an other police sloop to more effectually guard
the oyster beds in Fishing bay and its tributaries.

Also,
The petition of Solomon T, Tyler, of Dorchester county,
asking for the passage of a law for the St.te to pay him
$1,000 for damages sustained by the State Fishery Force of
Maryland.
Which wag read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr Hinks presented the petition of James Pearre, George
Gaither, Luke G. Enson, Abdon Carlile, Ephraim Stouffer
and Sol. T. E ker, the President and Directors of the Lib-
ertv and New Windsor Turnpike Company, praying for the
passage of an Act authorizing said Turnpike Company to
issue their notes and bonds secured by mortgage on said road
in order to complete their road, &c.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick and Carroll
delegations.
Mr. Waters, of Carroll, presented the petition of Conrad
Kroening, Francis T. Davis, and 22 other citizens of Car-
roll, against a voting precinct at Mount Airy, Carroll
county.

The petition of Hanson T. Ingles, Lewis C. Franklin,and
40 otner citizens of Carroll, against creating a voting pre-
cinct at Mount Airy, Carroll county.

Mr. Albaugh presented the petition of Wm. B, Shaffer,
Samuel Addiaon, W. Carmine, and 165 other citizens of
Maryland, opposed to the present contract convict system in
the Maryland Penitentiary.

Mr. Riggs presented the petition of Singleton King, & S.
Jameson, and 23 other citizens of Urbana district, in Fred-
rick county, praying for the passage of an Act to prevent
