The petition of William Mechem, Martin Calder, Michael
Whitetord, William C. Wilson and other citizens of Harford
county, protesting against the passage of any law looking to
the appointment of a county Treasurer for said county.
Which was read and referred to the Harford delegation.

The petition of William H. Walters, James M. Cain and
others of Harford county, in favor of a reduction in the per
cent. for collection of taxes, and against the Treasurer sys-
tem.
Which was read and referred to the Harford delegation.
Mr. Curtis presented the petition of Thos. Pierce, Robt.
Pepper, D. H. Rathbone and 20 others from Baltimore
county lor Local Option.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Usilton presented the petition of J. R. Leverton, W.
G. Trew and 2. other citizens of Kent county, requiring all
grain that goes to Baltimore to be weighed by the State
Weigher.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.
Mr. McGlone presented the memorial of Oregon R. Ben-
son and 150 citizens of Baltimore city and county, asking the
Legislature to pass an Act to authorize the Attorney General
to institute proceedings to take away the charter of the
Gwynn's Fall's Bridge Company, of the Washington Road.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of Samuel Cox.
Joseph Stone, N. T. Philips, J. T. Chrismond, C. F. Hay-
den and others, praying for the appointment of another
magistrate in the fourth Election District of Charles county.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Lancaster, Hawk-
ins and Mattingly.
Mr. Gunby presented the petition of James L. Horsey,
and 40 other citizens of Brinkley's district, in Somerset
county, for a change of the Local Option Law in said
district.
Which was read and referred to the Somerset delegation.
Mr. Lambdin presented the petition of B.J. Bell, John G.
Bell, Thos. H. Travers, and 87 other citizens, asking for the
