Mr. Lancaster submitted the following order :
Ordered, That R. Johnson Colton, Sergeant-at-Arms of the
House, be allowed to return home for a few days, in conse-
quence of urgent business engagements incident to recent
death in his family.

Mr. Hoblitzell submitted the following order :
Ordered, That Mr. Berkemeier have leave of absence for
three days on important business.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Gwynn submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Speaker appoint a Select Committee,
composed of one representative from each of the tobacco
growing counties in this State and Baltimore City, to take
into consideration the wants and interests of the tobacco
growing section of the State in regard to that particular
question.
Which was read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the order,
Mr. Robinson submitted the following amendment :
Ordered, That the Committee on Inspections be enlarged
by the appointment of one representative from each one of
the tobacco-growing counties and one from each legislative
district of Baltimore city.

The further consideration of the order with pending amend-
ment was postponed, and the same referred to the Committee
