Said bill being upon a second reading,
The following amendment submitted by Mr. Donaldson,
en the first instant, viz :
Section 5, amend by adding, "or if out of the United
States, before a Consul or Vice-Consul of the United
States,
Was then adopted,
And the bill as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections, to
whom was referred
The Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale ot
firewood in the City of Baltimore, for the better protection
of the produce dealer and consumer.
Reported favorably thereon with proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 2, strike out all after the word "Governor,"
and insert, "shall biennially appoint by and with the con-
Bent of the Senate."
The proposed amended was adopted,
And the bill as as amended, read a second time.
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, Chairman of a Select Committee,
reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to authorize or allow T. George
Todd to erect and keep a gate on the public road, known as
"Charles Creek Road," a branch of the road leading from
Lakesville to Woodlandtown, in Dorchester county.
Which was read a first time
Mr. Neal, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 156, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Queen Anne's County," sub title
"Surveyor."

Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, Chairman of a Select Commit-
tee, reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to require that fences on the lower
part of Hooper's Island, Dorchester county, extending from
the Narrow's Ferry to the lower thoroughfare on said Island,
shall fee of a prescribed character.
