436 JOUBNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 16,
1874, entitled an Act to authorize the United States to pro-
cure the condemnation of lands within the State of Maryland
for certain public purposes, and ceding the jurisdiction there-
of, when so condemned to the United States.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Section 22 of an Act, passed at January Session, 1870,
chapter 182, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of January Ses-
sion, 1868, chapter 414, and to re-enact in lieu thereof, cer-
tain Sections, to be arranged in the Code of Public General
Laws, under an Article to be entitled "Military."
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to give the sanction of the General
Assembly of Maryland, to the provisions of the last will and
testament of Rachel Heck, of Allegany county, by which the
residue of her estate was devised to be equally divided be-
tween the Board of Domestic Mission of the Presbyterian
Church, in the United States of America, and the Board of
Publication of said Church.
Which was read a first time.
Also, unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to add a Section to be numbered "38"
to Article 10, of the Code of Public General Laws,
The unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 88, of Article 56, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Licenses," and to
re-enact the same with amendments.
The unfavorable report was adopted.
Mr. Donaldson, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:
WHEREAS, There is doubt as to the effect of a motion that
any matter before the House do lie over informally.
Ordered, That the subject be referred to the Committee on
Rules, with the request that they report thereon, and make
such recommendation as to them may seem proper in the
premises.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Hoblitzell moved that the House do now adjourn.
Decided in the negative.
