The unfavorable report of the Committee was then adopted.
Mr. Hoblitzell, from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing Henry C. El-
liott, guardian of Wm. P. Mills, a minor, to pass his final ac-
count with the Orphans' Court for Dorchester county, and
making the said Wm. P. Mills competent in law to do all
things as he might do if he had already reached the age of
twenty-one years.
Which was read a second time.
Also,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction
of Justices of the Peace for Garrett, Montgomery and Calvert
counties, to cases of assault and battery, with proposed
amendments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend title by adding after Garrett, "Talbot."
Which was adopted.
Amend Sectionl, line 2d, by adding atter the word 'Gar-
rett," "Talbot."
Which was adopted.
Amend Section 2, 4th line, by adding after the word "Gar-
rett," "Talbot."
Which was adopted.
Strike out the word "Montgomery" whereever it appears
in bill and title.
Which was adopted.
Section 2, line 4, strike out all after the word "counties,"
and add respectively, "when such case arise and such appeal
shall be tried de novo."
Which was adopted.
Section 2, line 2, after the word "before," strikeout "Jus-
tices," and insert "a Justice," and in same line, after the
word "for," insert "either of."
Which was adopted.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, to make valid the Acts of the Commissioners appointed
by the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
December Session, 1840, chapter 219, and to confirm the pro-
ceedings of said Commissioners.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments, chapter 395 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
