On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 6, of Ar-
ticle 69, of the Code of Public General Laws.
On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Militia to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 182, of the Acts
of 1870, entitled an Act to repeal and re enact chapter 414
of the Acts of 1868, entitled "an Act to repeal Article 63,
Code of Public General Laws, relating to M litia," and Sec-
tions 652 to 770, both inclusive, of Article 4, Code of Public
Local Laws, relating to Militia in the City of Baltimore, and
to enact a substitute therefor.
On motion of Mr. Rusk,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to in-
troduce a bill repealing Section 804, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Baltimore city," sub-title "Orphans'
Court," and re-enacting the same with amendment.
On motion of Mr. Brooke,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments the
Act of January Session, 1868, chapter 334, entitled an Act
supplementary and amendatory of the Act of 1849, chapter
469, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Cumberland
and Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and to further repeal
and amend said last named Act.
On motion of Mr. Naill,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled a further supplement to the Act
passed by the General Assembly of Maryland, January Ses-
sion in the year 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to estab-
lish and incorporate an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb oi
the State of Maryland.
The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day.
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
The further consideration thereof was postponed for one
hour, to enable the various Committees to submit reports.
Mr. Harig, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported unfavorably on
The petition of Lizzie A. Beall, praying the passage of an
Act for her relief, and asked to be discharged from the farther
consideration thereof.
The report was adopted and the Committee discharged.
