Mr. Smith, of Baltimore comity, presented the petition of
James O. Jessop and 43 other citizens of Baltimore county,
asking the purchase of private interest now held in the Mary-
land Agricultural College and Model Farm.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Gwynn presented the petition of Aimer N. Bryan and
14 others, asking that the State of Maryland buy out the
private interest in the Maryland Agricultural College.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Boyer presented the petition of Richard Hynson,
George Vickers, James A. Pearce and others, praying the
passage of a law authorizing the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Kent county, to make a general index of judgments and
decrees in the office of paid Clerk, from the year 1864.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Boyer, Usilton
and Dashiell.
Mr. Sprigg presented the petition of Wm. J. Read, State's
Attorney for Allegany county, for pay of fee for professional
services in the State's Case vs. The Cumberland and Penn-
sylvania R. R. Co.
On motion of Mr. Bird, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Turner be excused from attendance for
a few day s, to visit his family.
On motion of Mr. Gwynn, it was
Ordered, That the officers for the distiibution of the public
documents of this House shall distribute an equal number to
each member thereof, and that no member be allowed to take
from the folders' room any documents, in violation of this
order.
On motion of Mr. Hinks, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Goldsborough be excused from attend-
ance in the House to-day on account of urgent business.
On motion of Mr. Rusk,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay Joseph F. Morgan, of St. Mary's county,
a sum of money for services rendered the State.
On motion of Mr. Rinehart,
Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to introduce A
bill to create an additional election district in Carroll county,
to be styled the "Thirteenth Election District of Carroll
county."
On motion of Mr. Donaldson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
