Mr, Bird presented the petition of James H. Hillen and
Wm H. Hillen and 19 others, citizens of Calvert county
asking for a law prohibiting the taking of oysters with tongs
scoops or other instrument in Mill Creek, and its tributaries
except by residents on its shore, for the period of four years.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Dashiell presented the petition of Esau D. Insly, George
W. Robertson, John W. Bellemy and 65 other citizens of
Wicomico county, for shortening the time for taking oysters
