Geo. W. Duvall, of Geo., Geo.W. Murdoch, John R. Cook,
James F. Busey, Edmund Jamison, Alpha M. Ruby, Joseph
Duianie, James H. Fowler, officers elect, severally appeared,
qualified, and entered upon the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Gill presented the memorial of Messrs. Mayer, Fischer
and Cross, for legalizing a revised code of the Public Gen-
eral and Public Local Laws of Maryland, prepared by them,
and for a subscription from the State.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Also,
The petition of the President and Directors of the Fire-
man's Insurance Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
Mr. Hinks presented the petition of the Frederick County
Commissioners, asking for the passage of an Act authorizing
them to issue bonds to the amount of thirty thousand dollars,
to complete and furnish the new jail for said county, and for
such other purposes as are herein set forth.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Mr. Lankford presented the petition of Thomas S. Hodson
and others, to extend the marine railway at Crisfield, Som-
erset county, Maryland.
Which was read and referred to the Somerset county dele-
gation.
Mr. Vandiver presented the petition of William B. Mor-
gan, asking to be refunded money erroneously paid into the
Treasury.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Hooper presented the petition of David Carroll, Henry
Mankin and one hundred other citizens of Baltimore county,
for the passage of a law prohibiting the sale of intoxicating
liquors within three quarters of a mile of Mount Vernon
Mills.
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.
Mr. Goldsborough presented the petition of George W.
Sparrow and one hundred and fifty-two other citiznes of the
third election district of Caroline county for a law compelling
owners of stock to keep them within their own enclo-
sures.
