On motion of Mr. Riggs, it was
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that the
absence of Mr. Koons, of Frederick, from the sessions of this
House for the last two days, was occasioned through the
serious illness of his father.
On motion of Mr. Hooper,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to repeal Section 193, chapter 409, of Local
Laws of Baltimore county, sub-title "Sheriff," passed in
1874, and to re-enact the same so as to read as follows.
On motion of Mr. Neal,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Neal, Cockey and Dunbar,
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 70, of
Article 17, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Queen
Anne's," sub-title "Crier," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
On motion of Mr. Usilton,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Usilton, Boyer and Ward, to
introduce a bill to authorize the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Kent county to rebind certain land records of Kent county,
and to make up certain indexes therein, and empower the
County Commissioners to levy money to pay for the same.
On motion of Mr. Lancaster,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to regulate the fees of the Auditor in Charles
county.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough.
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill repealing the Act of 1865, chapter 31, Act of
1868, chapter 61, and the Act of 1868, chapter 440, relating
to the printing of the laws, that take effect from the date of
their passage, and to enact a substitute therefor.
On motion of Mr. Ranger,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal Sections 1, 2, 3, 4,6, 6 and 7, of
Article 53, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Landlord and Tenant," and to re-enact the same with
amendments so as to enable landlords more speedily and
with less expense to dispossess tenants holding over.
On motion of Mr. Briscoe,
Leave was granted to the Cecil delegation to introduce a
bill to give Job Haines and Hanson H. Haines, executors of
Eli Hurford, late of Cecil county, deceased, and John Hur-
ford, power to convey certain real estate ia said county.
