Which, was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.'Mr. Hodges presented the petition of Thomas* M. Call,
John G. Gaylor, praying compensation for services rendered
the State.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of A, J. Walker, H.
P. Freeman, J. Thos. Colton, Wm. H. Cooksey and 100
other citizens of Charles county, asking for' a continuance of
the present system of State Tobacco Inspections.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.
Mr. Koons presented the petition of Geo. Rowe, Isaac
Hydor and 70 other citizens of Frederick county, praying the
repeal of the Act of 1874, chapter 45, entitled "Attach-
ments."
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Culbreth presented the petition of C. B. Mitchel and
48 other citizens of Caroline county, asking the repeal of the
law, known as the Local Option Law of said county, and
re-enacting the same with amendments.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Golsborough, Cul-
breth and Hiuks.
Mr. Dashiells presented the petition of George W. Robert-
son, H. N. Crawford, and 150 other citizens of Wicomico
county, asking for Local Option.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Dashiells, Gordy
and Purnell.
Mr. Gill presented the memorial of the managers of the
House of Refuge to the General Assembly of Maryland.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Mattingly presented the memorial of James Thomas
and other citizens of St. Mary's county, against the use of
the Maryland Agricultural College as a Naval School.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.
Mr. Whitelock presented the petition of Mrs. Mary B.
Waters of Baltimore, Md., for $4.80, back pension money to
2d March, 1816.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
tions.
Mr. Briscoe presented the petition of Lewis A. Todd, and
others, citizens of Cecil county, asking for the repeal of the
