the bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Consumers' Mutual
Gas Company, and reported thereon, with proposed amend-
ments, and asked to be discharged from the further consid-
eration thereof.
The Committee was accordingly discharged,
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Sec. 3, line 2, strike out the word "may" and insert
"shall."
Sec. 3, line 4, insert the word "daily" before the word
"newspapers."
Add as "Section 13—No loan of money shall be made by
such corporation to any stockholder therein; and if any such
loan shall be made to any stockholder, the officer or officers
who shall make it, or who shall assent thereto, shall be jointly
and severally liable for all the debts the corporation contracted
before the making of the said loan, to the extent of double
the amount of said loan."
Make Sections 13 and 14, read, 14 and 15, respectively.
The proposed amendments were severally read and adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a third time and
passed by yeas and nays, as follows :
