The petition of William Castles, and 37 others, citizens of
Cecil county, asking the repeal of what is known as the
Grand Jury Law for said county.
Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation.
Mr. Gwynn presented the petition of C. C. Maynadier and
others, asking for a repeal of the Acts of Assembly of 1874,
chapter 265, entitled an Act to remove all Gates from the
public road, in Prince George's county.
Which was read and referred to the Prince George's dele-
gation.
Also,
The petition of G. H. Marshall and twenty-five others, ask-
ing for a repeal of the Acts of Assembly of 1874, chapter 265,
entitled an Act to remove all Gates from the public roads in
Prince George's county.
Which was read and referred to the Prince George's dele-
gation.
On motion of Mr. Whitelock, it was
Ordered, That the Committee on Corporations be authorized
to send for persons and papers, and examine witnesses under
oath, touching the affairs of the Baltimore and Havre de
Grace Turnpike Company.
On motion of Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Waters, of Dorchester, have leave of
absence for several days to attend to important business.
On motion of Mr. Brown, it was
Ordered, That the Sergeant-at-Arms, be and is hereby di-
rected to call a roll of subordinate officers of this house each
morning, and report to the Chairman on Claims, all absen-
tees, who shall not be paid unless excused for such absence
by the House.
Mr. Fenton submitted the following order:
Ordered, That when this House adjourns to-day, it stands
adjourned until Tuesday next at 12 o'clk.
Which was read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the order,
Mr. Hoblitzell submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the word "Tuesday," and insert "Monday."
Which was adopted.
The order as amended, was then adopted.
On motion of Mr. Ranger,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
