to introduce a bill provide for the taxation of dogs and the
protection of sheep in Washington county.
On motion of Mr. McWilliams,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to amend Section 10, of an Act passed at the
January Session, 1872, chapter 153, entitled "an Act to pro-
vide for the inspection of steam boilers in the city of Balti-
more."
On motion of Mr. Lambdin,
Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill to revive and extend the Act of 1874, chapter
468, pertaining to the lost wills and records caused by the
burning of the Court House in Dorchester county.
On motion of Mr. Loane,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed
January Session, 1864, chapter 185, entitled "an Act to in-
corporate the Dulaney's Valley and Sweet Air Turnpike
Company," and also to repeal an Act passed at January Ses-
sion, 1865, chapter 42, entitled "a supplement to an Act to
incorporate the Dulaney's Valley and Sweet Air Turnpike
Company."
On motion of Mr. Robinson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill to protect sheep husbandry, by taxing dogs.
Mr. Stewart, Chairman of the Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries, to whom was referred, the
petition of R. R. Vandiver and others, praying for protec-
tion of the fishing interests, reported thereon, and moved the
reference thereof to the Select Committee on Fisheries and
the increase of Fish, and asked that the Committee be dis-
charged from the further consideration of the same.
The petition was so referred and the Committee discharged.
Mr. Constable, Chairman of the Commitee on the Judi-
ciary, reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to commute the term of imprison-
ment of such prisoners in the Maryland Penetentiary as
shall be found worthy.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 67, of Article 30,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments," sub-title "Gunning," and to re-enact a substitute
therefor.
Which was read a first time.
