The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of Article 37,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Evidence," sub-
title "Competency of Witnesses," as amended by the Act of
January Session, 1874, chapter 385, and to amend and re-
enact the same to read as follows.
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 9, of Article 28,
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the publica-
tion of county expenses, so far as the same relates to Dor-
chester county and to re-enact the same with amendments,
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, submitted the following amend-
ment
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 6, after the word "County," add, "or by
handbill or in pamphlet form."
Which was adopted.
The bill as amended, was then read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to amend Section 2, of the Act of
1870, chapter 477, under the head of Prince George's county,
by adding the name of Elizabeth Ryon, widow of Thomas
Ryon, in the place of Mrs. Prior, the widow of Thomas
Prior, which is an error in the engrossment of said Act.
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Park-
ton and Manchester Railroad Company, by providing that
juries selected to condemn private property for the location of
the Parkton and Manchester Railroad shall take into con-
sideration benefits to be derived by owners of property, so
condemned, as well as damages.
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the residents of White
Marsh Parish, in Talbot county, to make St. Paul's Parish
Church,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act granting to the Johns' Hopkins
University the power to grant certain degrees,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
