On motion of Mr. Rullman,
Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel delegation to in-
troduce a bill authorizing the Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del county, to levy a sum of money for the erection of a new
Female Public School in Annapolis.
On motion of Mr Whitelock,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal Section 233, of the Public General
Laws, entitled "Orphans' Court," and re-enact the same
with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Mattingly,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to refund to Joshua Jones of St. Mary's county,
the sum of $30, (thirty dollars,) paid by him in the State
Treasury.
On motion of Mr. Hawkins,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ment to introduce a bill to protect mocking birds in Charles,
(St. Mary's and Calvert counties.
On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill giving the sanction of the General Assembly
of Maryland, to the bequest of a legacy in the last will and
testament of Dan'l Woolfbrd, late of Washington county,
deceased, to the Church of God at Broad Fording, in Wash-
ington county.
On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation to
introduce a bill to protect birds and game in Washington
county.
On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add new Sections to Article 10, of the
Code of Public General Laws,entitled "Attachments," under
sub-title "Claimants of Property."
The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,
The House proceeded to the consideration of bills upon a
second reading.
The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of part-
ridges and rabbits, and to prevent trespassing with dog or
gun, on private property in Kent county.
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
