The Speaker laid before the House the following commu-
nication from Hon. Levin Woolford, Comptroller of the
Treasury.

Speaker of the House of Delegates:
Dear Sir.—In compliance with an order of the Honorable
the House of Delegates, passed January 19, 1876, I herewith
transmit to your Honorable Body a statement showing the
annual receipts from all sources into the "Oyster Fund," for
each and every year since the creation of that "Fund," and
the annual disbursements for each and every year as afore-
said, in detail, for the use and maintenance of the Oyster
Police of the State.

Ordered to be printed forthwith, and referred to the Com-
mittee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Whitelock presented the petition of 126 females resid-
ing near the Washington Factory, asking protection against
drunkards.
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county del-
egation.
Mr. Clark presented the petition of Nicholas Harding,
praying for a pension, being "a soldier of the war of 1812.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Boyle presented the petition of Joseph Stevenson and
R. R. Vandiver and 48 others, asking that for the preserva-
tion and protection of fish jn our waters and maintaining
the rights of our citizens, that your Honorable Body will
enact a most stringent law, with a heavy fine or penalty and
provide (or the enforcing thereof; to prevent any person or
persons coming from an adjacent State, and not a citizen of
our State, from fishing in our waters with stakes or drift
nets.
