On motion of Mr. Hooper,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill ranking six per cent, a legal rate of interest
in absence of contract, and to repeal all laws inconsistent
therewith.
On motion of Mr. Rinehart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims, to intro-
duce a bill to refund to Dennis Cookson, of Carroll county,
a certain sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury.
On motion of Mr. Constable,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill to add an additional Section to Article 75,
of the Code of Public General Laws, to regulate the practice
in cases of application for new trial in the several Courts of
the State.
On motion of Mr. Clark,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Clarke, Donaldson and
Rinehart, to report a bill to repeal Article 13, Section 17, of
Public Local Laws, entitled "Howard county," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Gywnn.
Leave was granted to the Committee on Public Buildings,
to introduce a bill to authorize the re-building of the State
Tobacco Warehouses No s. 1 and 2 in Baltimore city, which
were destroyed by fire in 1875.
On motion of Mr. Donaldson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill entitled an Act, to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section twenty-five of Article twenty-four, of
tho Code of Public General Laws.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill entitled an Act, to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section five of Article ten, of the Cade of Pub-
lie General Laws.
On motion of Mr. Hance,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims, to intro-
duce a bill to pay Henry Brooke, Clerk of the Circuit Court
